Merkur Archipelago, part of East Africa service with 4,431 TEUs capacity is the largest container vessel ever to call Port of Duqm for commercial operations to discharge 100 empty units & load 160 reefer laden units for Al Wusta fisheries.
With this main liner service corridor opened by Maersk, the world’s largest liner operator, Port of Duqm achieves a significant milestone as it underscores its growing importance as the key gateway port for Fishery exports. We foresee an enhanced presence of Maersk line activity in Port of Duqm in the coming days, resulting in substantial increase in its container throughput volumes.
