Background

Port Authority

In its first major role of Port Authority, Port of Duqm ensures safe and efficient marine traffic in and out of the Port at all times. Apart from pilotage, VTS and tug services, Port of Duqm, directly or via one of the multiple agents or sub-contractors present in the port, provides other services such as facilitation of crew changes, deslopping, ship chandling services, bunkering, Ship-to-Ship services (within the port basin or at anchorage), fresh water supply and waste receipt.

Background

Terminals

Port of Duqm is being built as technologically advanced and modern multi-purpose port with various facilities. Port is designed to accommodate various specialized terminals. Dedicated terminals will be established to handle Containers, Ro-Ro, Break Bulk, Project, Bulk - Dry & Liquid. At present development phase commercial quay with a total length of 2230 meters and with over 600,000 square meters of storage areas within the port is being build. Currently (December 2019) approximately 1000 meters of quay with 18 meters draft and adjacent storage and handling area is operational. Furthermore, port is supporting a logistics center and industrial land.

Background

Industrial Lands

Port of Duqm Company (PDC), under its subsidiary called Duqm Industrial Land Company (DILC), has signed a separate concession with the Oman Government to develop an industrial land and petrochemical area over 2,000ha. The plan is to develop 500 ha of land for heavy industries, another 500ha for medium-to-heavy industries and the remaining 1000ha of land for petrochemicals. At present, in the first phase, 250 ha of medium-heavy industrial land is being developed and handed over to tenants under long-term lease agreements. This industrial land zone has an excellent location, situated right across the upcoming prestigious Oman Oil refinery project. Port of Duqm and DILC are seeking investors to set up a variety of industries in the zone, including but not limited to the following:
