CEO Port of Duqm
Dear Clients, Partners, and Stakeholders,
The Duqm Special Economic Zone is an ambitious project in Oman, supporting the national vision of sustainable growth and industry diversification. Situated in the middle of the country, with good access to the Eastern and Western trade corridors, Duqm is the desired gateway towards regional industrial development. The excellent connectivity to rapidly expanding markets in the Indian subcontinent and East- and South Africa is promising to investors looking for a long-term perspective.
Today, the special economic zone benefits from a fully operational port. With state-of-the-art infrastructure, the port has proven its capability in handling all vessel types and handling challenging breakbulk cargo OCTG and emerging industrial projects. The logistics and operations are expected to come in full swing in the coming years, enabling and supporting industrial development. The adjacent refinery and crude oil storage provide the flow of the liquid jetty, with overall expansion capacities.
Oman is a leading country in the energy transition, with Duqm at the centre of the first green hydrogen projects. Also, the steel industry is following, with Duqm as an emerging hub for green industry development. The presence of traditional energy sources, in combination with abundant sun and wind resources, provides the right recipe for Duqm to function as a home for sustainable industry growth and transition.
The development of the port is strengthened by its Omani-Belgian partnership. The ASYAD group represents the national logistics interest, with Port of Antwerp-Bruges and DEME adding international public-private know-how. In line with the involved authorities, Port of Duqm serves its clients with a clear and hands-on approach.
We appreciate your interest in Port of Duqm and are excited to embark on the journey towards a sustainable future.
Welcome!
